1 Downloading and Installing Wind Cut

Don't you have an Wind Cut? Well! Hit the "Download" button now given below to get this video editor; you can download it for Mac or Windows according to the system you are using. After downloading, follow the installation wizard to fully install this software on your computer.

2 Registering Wind Cut:

After installing the software successfully, launch it to get access to its interface. After getting access to the main interface, hit the "Account" icon in the upper-right corner. 

Here you can see that you can log in directly using Twitter, Facebook, or Google accounts. Or you can also sign up by entering account information such as your email and password. After entering the information, hit the "Get" button to have a verification code on your email address. After that, copy the verification code from your email; now, return to the windows and click the "Sign up" button for account registration.

3 Activating VIP Account

Do you want to enjoy every feature of Wind Cut? Well! You should update your account to VIP. From your account, click "Upgrade to VIP" to go to the page showing the pricing plan. Select the plan you wish to purchase and buy it. After your payment, you will receive a license code in your email. Copy that license code, go to your account again, and click “Activate VIP”. Paste the copied code in the provided field and click “OK” to open up all the premium features of Wind Cut without limitations.

Selecting Editing Modes

After launching Wind Cut, you will notice the interface below. 7 Modes are available for you to select from 21:9, 6:7, 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 9:16, and 16:9. You can select any of these modes according to the video aspect you want or the platform where you wish to share the video you edited.

In addition, you can go to New Project to begin a new video editing project or click Open Project to open the draft project you have previously edited. 

Navigation of Interface: Introduction to Its Features

7 Tabs: after entering the editing interface, you will find different tabs to add music, media, transitions, texts, overlays, elements, and filters. 

Real-time Preview Window: On the right is a built-in player that lets you see media files to ensure that it needs you.

Toolbar: There is a toolbar from the left part of the tool. The toolbar offers easy access to many editing functions such as edit, crop, split, etc.

  • Undo: CCancel the latest editing function.
  • Redo: Restore the latest editing that you have done to the media file.
  • Edit: Edit the video by rotating, changing speed, setting fade-in/fade-out effects, adjusting video volume, flipping, etc.
  • Split: Divide the video into several small sections.
  • Delete: Delete filters, video, music, texts, images, transitions, overlays, etc.
  • Subtitle: Enter all the subtitles in the video and custom edit in its style.
  • Crop: Drag to crop the size of the video screen with or not to keep the aspect ratio.
  • Zoom: Zoom in/ Zoom out to fit the timeline or to increase/reduce the length of the whole media content.
  • Mosaic: Add a variety of mosaic effects to your video with custom settings.
  • Freeze: Freeze the frame and increase its duration to indicate a particular moment in the video.
  • Duration: Hit the Duration button to determine the lasting time for effects such as filters, transitions, overlays, etc.
  • Dubbing: Add customized voiceovers from the microphone through recording.
  • Chroma cutout: Select the Chrome cutout to cut picture/video green parts.
  • Color Correction: Adjust images/videos’ saturation, contrast, shadow, brightness etc., to have the best-looking video.
  • Export: Hit the Export button to save the video you have edited for sharing or further editing. 

Timeline: A timeline is a section where you can edit all the effects and media files. Typically, a timeline has 5 tracks.

  • Video: In this track, you add elements, images and videos for editing. To remove the sound from the video, you can click Mute. And click Lock to stop media from being edited. 
  • PIP: It is the same as the Video track; you can also add elements, images and videos to the PIP track. You can drag media to add a picture-in-picture effect to various sections.
  • Text: You can add and edit texts/subtitles in this track.
  • Audio: Insert background music throughout the video in the Audio track.
  • Voiceover: This track will display the recorded audio file; you can click this file to edit audio, like changing sound, setting fade-in / fade-out effects, adjusting speed, and more.

Also, when you add filters and overlay effects, the Filter and Overlay tracks will be shown for editing.

Add Media

Wind Cut lets you import audio, video, subtitles, and images in various formats for editing video. All the media files added in Wind Cut will be available in the media library so you can access them faster. You can import media files to Wind Cut in 3 ways:

Method 1. Go to File > Import to import media folders or files to this video editor.

Method 2. Double-click on the media section and choose one or more media files to load up from the window that appeared on your screen.

Method 3. Use the drag-and-drop method to get your desired media files on the media section of the editor.

How to Edit Videos

If you want to edit your video content, Wind Cut offers rich editing features to help you finish the job. Here's a step-by-step guide that will assist you to get started.

Begin by importing your media files into Wind Cut. This can be done by selecting the "Import" option and then choosing the files you wish to edit.

Add Video to the Timeline

Once your media files have been imported, you can add your chosen video to the timeline. Upload the video to the media library and then drag it onto the timeline pane to start editing.

Delete Video from Timeline

If you need to remove a video clip from the timeline, there are two ways. You can either right-click on the clip and select "Delete" or use the Delete icon on the toolbar.

Split Video

To split a video clip, position the play head at the point where you want to cut. From there, you can either click the Split icon on the toolbar to cut the video immediately or right-click at the desired split point and select "Split" to accomplish the same task.

Cut Video

To trim a video clip, hover the mouse over the edge of the video until the double arrow appears. Move the arrow left or right to trim the video and select the desired part only. If you need to trim the middle part of the video, split the video first and then delete the unwanted portion.

If you want to trim the middle part of the video, you will have to split the video and then delete the unwanted portion.

Rotate Video, Reverse Video and Change Video Speed

To rotate, reverse, or speed up a video clip, double-click on the clip in the timeline or right-click on the video and select "Edit". You can also click on the Edit icon on the toolbar to open the video edit window. From there, you can freely rotate the video, adjust its speed, reverse it, change the background color, and adjust the audio volume as needed. You can then rotate the video, change video speed, reverse video, change background color, adjust audio volume, etc. freely as you need.

Crop Video

To crop a video clip, select the video in the timeline and click on the Crop icon or right-click on the clip and select "Crop" to enter the video crop window. In the pop-up window, you can adjust the rectangle by dragging it to change the screen size of the video.

Merge Video

To merge multiple videos into one, drag them into the timeline in the order you wish them to appear. Once you have added all the clips, export the video project to combine them.

Enhance Video

Improve your video's overall appearance by adjusting settings such as contrast, saturation, brightness, and highlight. Click the Color Correction icon on the toolbar and make the desired changes in the pop-up window.

Remove Audio from Video

To remove sound from a video, right-click on the clip in the timeline and select Mute. If you wish to add other audio tracks to the video, drag the music or audio file to the audio track.

Add Mosaic to Video

To add a mosaic to your video, right-click on the clip in the timeline and look for Mosaic, or click on the Mosaic icon on the toolbar. This will bring up a window where you can drag a yellow rectangle to blur a certain video part. Note that the mosaic will be applied from the start to the end of the video.

Add Text to Video

To add text to your video, go to the Text tab and choose the style that best suits your needs. You can then drag the text onto the timeline or click the + icon to apply it directly.

After adding the text, please select it and use the mouse to adjust its position and timing. Additionally, you can edit the text's font, type, color, opacity, stroke, and other settings to personalize it and match your video's style.

Add Transition to Video

Transitions can create a seamless flow between different clips in your video. To add a transition, go to the Transitions tab and select the transition effect you like. You can drag it to the timeline or right-click it and select Add to Project. Once added, you can adjust the transition duration to your liking. If you want to add transitions between all video and image clips, choose "Apply random transition" or "Apply to all" for a specific transition.

Apply Filters

Filters can enhance the overall look of your video and create a specific mood or tone. To add a filter, go to the Filters tab and select the filter effect you like. You can click the plus icon, drag it to the timeline, or right-click the filter and click Add to Project. From the Timeline, you can adjust the duration of the filter effect.

Add Overlays

Overlays are graphics or text added to your video to convey additional information or create a unique style. To add an overlay, choose the overlay you like and drag it to the timeline. Alternatively, you can click the + icon to apply the overlay effect to your video. In the timeline, you can set the position and duration of the overlay effect to achieve the desired effect.

Add Elements

You can add creative elements using Wind Cut to make your videos stand out. Please start by selecting the Element style that you like and downloading it. Once you have your Element, drag it to the timeline and place it either in the Video or PIP tracks. If you add it to the Video track, it will serve as the intro of your video. Alternatively, placing it in the PIP track will display an animation effect on the video or image. You can crop, zoom, or add mosaic effects to the Element to personalize its appearance and make it more appealing, just like editing a video.

How to Edit Your Audio Track

Add Background Music

Wind Cut allows you to enhance your video by adding background music. You can choose from the software's music library or import your music. To add background music, go to the Music tab and select the music you want. Then, drag it to the timeline to apply it to your video.

Add Voiceover

If you want to add narration to the video, Wind Cut provides a Dubbing function that lets you record your voiceover easily. To use Dubbing, click the Dubbing icon from the toolbar and start recording your voice from the microphone. Once you're done, the recorded audio file will appear in the Voiceover track. You can then edit it to adjust the speed, volume, and other settings.

Combine Audio

Combining and merging audio clips is a breeze with Wind Cut. Add the audio clips to the timeline in the desired order, and when you export the audio file, all the clips will be merged into a single file.

Split Audio

To split an audio track in Wind Cut, move the play head to the point where you wish to make the cut and click the Split button on the toolbar. Alternatively, you can right-click the audio clip and select Split. This will create two separate audio clips that you can edit separately.

Trim Audio

To remove unwanted parts from an audio clip in Wind Cut, select it in the timeline. This will display a yellow border around the clip. To trim the clip, move your mouse over the border edge, press and hold the left mouse button, and drag it to the desired position.

Adjust Audio Speed and Volume

Wind Cut allows you to adjust the speed and volume of your audio tracks easily. To adjust the speed, double-click on the audio track or right-click it and select Edit. You can then choose a speed from 0.1x to 50x to match your needs. You can also use the Edit function to increase or decrease the volume of an audio clip. Double-click on the audio track or right-click it and select Edit. You can adjust the volume from there to ensure your audio sounds just right.

Fade Audio In or Out

In the audio adjustment panel, you can easily add a fade-in or fade-out effect to your audio clips. This can help make your audio transitions smoother and more professional.

Detach Audio from Video

To extract audio from a video clip, right-click on the clip in the timeline from the Video track and select "Audio Detach" from the list of options. This will detach the audio track from the video and allow you to edit it separately.

How to Edit Images for Vide Creation

Wind Cut also includes a range of powerful image editing tools. Here's how to use them:

Add Images to Video

To include photos in your video project, drag them from the Media Library to the Video track. If you want to insert the images into the middle of a video clip, you'll need to split the video first.

Adjust Image Duration

By default, images are set to last 4 seconds when added to the timeline. To change the duration of an image, select it in the timeline and click on the Duration icon in the toolbar.

Adjust Image Settings

Wind Cut allows you to adjust various image settings to enhance your photos. Select the image you want to adjust, then click the Color Correction icon in the toolbar. You can adjust the contrast, saturation, brightness, shadows, and more from there.

Rotate and Crop Image

You can rotate or flip your images by double-clicking on them or right-clicking and selecting "Edit."

You can crop images by clicking the Crop icon in the toolbar or right-clicking on the image and selecting "Crop." This is useful for removing unwanted parts of the image or focusing on a particular aspect. 

Export the Video

After you are done with editing or wish to edit the video later, you can save that project in different ways, which are mentioned below:

1 Export as Project

If you want to edit your video later, you can save it as a project so that you can open it directly next time and keep editing. Go to File > Save/ Save as to export the video as a project. 

2 Export as Video

After editing, if you want to save the final video, export and save the edited file in AVI, MP4, MKV, WMV, etc., as per your requirements. Rename the edited file and select the folder to save it. If required, you can also modify the video parameters such as frame rate, resolution, encoder, bit rate, etc. and determine the video cover. After completing all the settings, click Export to save the final video to your desktop.

3 Export as Audio

You can save the edited media in MP3 or AAC format as audio-only. Like exporting video files, you can also set the destination folder and audio name and modify parameters such as bit rate, sample rate, encoder, etc.

4 Export as Subtitle

You can also save the edited media as a subtitle file in TXT, ASS, and SRT format. Later, you can add these subtitles to other videos if required.
